McCathran Andrew is the first awardee of the Nontraditional Community Stem Scholarship. She is an upper-class honors scholar in Computer Science and Accounting at Rockford University. She is also a student athlete on both the volleyball and softball teams. Originally, McCathran graduated from Lutheran High School in Rockford. | |
| Paige Lambright is completing an Associate Degree from Rock Valley College as well as graduating with honors from Belvidere North High School as an Illinois State Scholar. She is a four-sport athlete competing on the varsity tennis, basketball, track and field teams as well as a traveling AAU softball team. Paige will be attending Missouri University of Science and Technology to study Chemical Engineering.

She participated in the Chemistry Olympiad, Science Olympiad and WYSE academic competitions throughout her high school years and also athletic competitions on the Varsity Tennis team. Khushi will be attending Loyola University in Biochemistry. | |
| Kristen Zuzga is an honor student graduating from Auburn High School’s Academy for gifted students where she earned many awards of distinction. Besides volunteering at the Discovery Center, she participated in the Chemistry Olympiad, WYSE, and ACES and was captain of the Girls’ Swim Team. Kristen will be attending the University of Alabama, Huntsville in Astrophysics/Astronomy. |
